At ZAPinfo, we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our users and of the data collected on individuals through the use of our Services. This Privacy Policy sets out how we treat the personal data of our (a) customers’ and all of their authorized users (collectively referred to as “users” herein), and (b) non-users in our role as a data “processor” for our users as defined in the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), Article4, Section8. This Privacy Policy also defines your privacy options and describes how information is collected and used.

This policy applies to all information collected via the Services and any information you provide to ZAPinfo. We collect the following information from our individual users and from third party data subjects:

  • Users of ZAPinfo Services:  You will provide personal data to us when you register for and use the Services, or participate in certain ZAPinfo promotions or events. The personal data we may collect from users of our Services may include:

    • Password and login credentials;

    • Contact information including email addresses, phone numbers, addresses; and

    • Payment information including credit/debit card numbers, and PayPal or checking account information.

  • Individual Data Subjects:  All data accessed and collected regarding individual data subjects is obtained by our users from publicly available sources.  Under GDPR, our users act as the controller of such data and we act as the processor. We do not maintain permanent records or copies of any personal data collected and processed by our users. We may maintain copies of such information for up to 30 days. Examples of personal data our users may collect about data subjects are:

    • contact information, including email addresses, phone numbers, and street addresses.

    • education history, including degrees or certificates earned and schools attended.

    • work experience, including name of employers and dates of employment.

    • skills, specific work experiences

    • photographs

    • links to public websites displaying information about the data subject, such as LinkedIn.


Use of the Services are further subject to the ZAPinfo Terms of Service and the “Additional Agreements” as defined therein, both available via the ZAPinfo website.


The Services may include blogs, product reviews, or other message areas that allow users to post or send information to the Services. When you post information to the Services, others can also view that information. We urge you to exercise caution if you choose to enter personal data in message areas on the Services that are publicly viewable.


In addition to the personal data our users supply, we may collect certain information to (1) evaluate how users use the Services; or (2) provide you with personalized information or offers. We collect this data to make the Services work better for you in the following ways: to improve the design of the Services, to personalize the Services, and to evaluate the performance of our marketing programs. The technologies we use to gather this data may include IP addresses, cookie files, browser and operating system detection, weblogs, and geo-location tools.


We implement physical, administrative, and technical safeguards and operational procedures to protect and maintain the security of personal data. We protect your transactions involving personal data over the Internet using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. Users:  We don’t sell or rent your personal data to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. Our primary goal in collecting user data is to provide you with a personalized, relevant, and positive experience as a user of the Services. We may use your personal data to:

Data Subjects:
ZAPinfo’s Services enable users to collect data subjects’ contact and profile information from publicly-available, online resumes, personal profiles, or other online sources. Users of the Services determine how the personal data is then used. The personal data collected may be used for job recruiting, hiring, job placement, and related purposes. In addition, the Services may enable a user to augment or enrich this information and copy it to other websites or software applications. Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document addresses only the use and disclosure of information collected by users of the Services. ZAPinfo does not control the privacy policies of users of the Services. 

Users can register on the ZAPinfo Website to receive promotions and updates, or to be contacted for market research purposes. Users can control their privacy preferences regarding such marketing communications (See the section below entitled “Your Privacy Preferences.”).

From time to time, Users may be invited to participate in optional customer surveys or promotions, and ZAPinfo may request that you provide some or all of the above listed personal data in those surveys or promotions. We use information collected from surveys and promotions to learn about our customers in order to improve our services and develop new products and services of interest to our customers.

IP addresses define the Internet location of computers and may help us better understand the geographic distribution of our visitors and customers and manage the performance of the Services. Cookies files are placed in the static memory of your electronic device when you access or use the Services so we can immediately recognize you when you return and deliver content specific to your choices or interests. You may modify your browser preferences to accept all cookies, be notified when a cookie is set, or reject all cookies. Please consult your browser instructions for information on how to modify your choices about cookies. If you modify your cookie preferences, certain features of the Services may not be available to you.

We may detect the type of web browser or operating system you are using to optimize the performance of the Services and to understand the mix of software used by our visitors, guests, and customers. To learn about how visitors use the Services, we examine weblogs, which show the paths people take through the Services and how long they spend in certain areas.

We may also compile certain general usage information concerning the Services. You agree that we are authorized to use, reproduce and generally make such information available to third parties in the aggregate, provided that such information shall not include personal data about you or any data subject.

The Services allow users to collect contact and profile information from an online resume, personal profile, or other personal data available online. In addition, the Services may enable a user to augment or enrich this information and copy it to other websites or software applications.

The Services may include the ability to link certain geographical information made available by us with your physical location. When you use the Services, the Services may know, in very general terms, your current physical location. To the extent that your physical location can be determined by the Services, we may use your location to make available information to you that is relevant because of your physical location.

If your use of the Services is paid for by an organization (e.g. employer), you agree that we may make your usage information available to such organization, including but not limited to, profiles or information extracted, dates and times of actions, and the websites or software applications to which you posted or copied information.

ZAPinfo may provide your personal data to its subsidiaries, affiliates, professional advisors, and other third parties to provide services such as customer communications, hosting, data analytics, advertising, and other services. When ZAPinfo does this, ZAPinfo may provide your personal data to third parties only to provide those services, and they are not authorized to use or disclose your personal data for any other purpose. 


For our users residing in the European Union, we will transfer your personal data to the United States for processing. Whenever we transfer your personal data to the United States or other countries not deemed by the European Commission to provide an adequate level of personal data protection, the transfer will be made:

  • Pursuant to the recipient’s compliance with standard contractual clauses, EU-US Privacy Shield, or Binding Corporate Rules; or

  • Pursuant to the consent of the individual to whom the Personal Data pertains; or

  • As otherwise permitted by European law.


The Services are not intended for use by children or persons under the age of 18. We will not knowingly collect any personal data from minors through the Services. If you think that we have collected personal data from a minor, please contact us immediately using the contact information provided at the end of this Privacy Policy.


California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal data to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please contact us using the information at the end of this Privacy Policy.


When you sign up as a registered user of the Services you are given the option of choosing to receive marketing communications such as e-mail newsletters, product and service updates and promotions. Our customers generally find this type of information useful. If you have opted-in to receiving these communications, but no longer want to receive these any longer, you may select the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email and follow the opt-out instructions or send an email to


Users are required to notify data subjects when the user has obtained your personal data from publicly available sources and the specific purposes for which the personal data may be used.  It is the obligation of the user of the Services to obtain consent from the data subject for the use of their personal data.

● Transfer.  Transfer a machine-readable copy of your personal data to you or a third party of your choice.

● Restrict.  Restrict the processing of your personal data.

● Object. Object to our reliance on our legitimate interests as the basis of our processing of your personal data.

If we hold your personal data in connection with services that we provide to one of our users, we will direct your request to the applicable user of our Services.

To protect your privacy and security, ZAPinfo requires a user ID and password to verify your identity before granting you the right to access, review, or make corrections to your personal data. Please be advised that certain personal data may not be corrected or deleted if we must by law retain such information as submitted.


We reserve the right to disclose your personal data as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order or legal process. 

It is also possible that ZAPinfo would sell its business (by merger, acquisition or otherwise) or sell all or substantially all of its assets. In any transaction of this kind, customer information, including your personal data, may be among the assets that are transferred. If we decide to so transfer your personal data, you will be notified by an email sent to the last know email address in our files or by notice posted on the Services.


We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and the applicable legal requirements.

When we no longer require the personal data we have otherwise collected about you, such as when you cease to be a registered user of the Services, we will dissociate such information from the information attached to your content to the extent possible while retaining such data only so long as needed to comply with business, legal or regulatory obligations and requirements. All personal data obtained from third-party data subjects is obtained from publicly available online sources.  Our legitimate business interest or purpose for collecting our users’ personal data is to operate the Services for our users in return for the payment of subscription fees. ZAPinfo’s processing of personal data is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by our users or within the context of services provided by a third-party to facilitate the function of the Services.  We use the subscription fees to pay our business expenses and operate ZAPinfo, which is a for-profit business.
